According to Realtor.com the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area ranked #22 in terms of how often potential buyers searched for homes here. It also noted that the median list price was down 2.27% and the number of listings at 14,311 was down 4.79%. The average price of a home was $292,700, down by 5.3% from the same period a year ago. In addition the media days on market was 86, which is 19.2% more days on market than a year ago.
All this means is that while a lot of people are interest in the Triangle metro area the Triangle has not escaped the economic downturn that has affected everywhere else. We’re just coping with it better.
146 markets were compared. Chicago was #1 in terms of searches. Charlotte was #38. Atlanta was #8. Anchorage, Alaska was #146.
